Services Websites and custom software

Websites and software built for how you work.

BurmLabs builds websites and custom software for businesses whose needs do not fit an off-the-shelf product. Sites are fast, readable by search engines and AI assistants, and connected to the systems behind them. Custom software is built only where buying would cost more than building.

Builds

Websites, customer portals, internal tools, and platforms.

You keep

The code, the content, the domain, and the data.

Starts with

The smallest version that does the real job.

What it is

A website is often the first place a customer or an AI assistant looks to find out what a business does. It should load fast, say plainly what you offer, and pass inquiries straight to the people who answer them. We build sites that way, and we run our own products on the same approach.

Custom software is a bigger decision. Most needs are met by a product you can buy, and we will say so. We build when the way you work is the advantage, and no product fits it without forcing your team to work around it.

When it fits

A good fit when

  • The site has a job. Bringing in inquiries, taking orders, or answering the questions people ask most.
  • Off-the-shelf does not fit. You have tried the products and bent your process around them.
  • It must connect. The site or tool needs to talk to systems you already run.
  • Someone owns it. One person decides what it should do.

Not the right tool when

  • A standard product already does what you need. Buying is cheaper than building.
  • The requirements are still changing every week.
  • Nobody will have time to keep the content current.
  • The main goal is a new look, with nothing else changing.

Illustrative example, not a client project

The quote request page

  1. Input

A visitor describes the work they need on a form built for your trade, with photos if they have them.

  2. Action

The site checks the details, saves the request, and notifies the person who handles that kind of job.

  3. Output

A complete request in the team's list, with contact details, the description, and the photos attached.

  4. Exceptions

Spam is held back. A request missing something essential asks the visitor for it before it is sent.

How we build and run it

  1. Define the job

We agree on what the site or tool has to do and how we will know it works.

  2. Build the smallest version

A working first release that does the main job, in front of real users early.

  3. Connect it

Forms, payments, and data are wired to the systems behind them and tested end to end.

  4. Launch properly

Speed, search readiness, accessibility, backups, and monitoring are checked before it goes live.

  5. Run and improve

We watch how it is used and change what is not working.

What changes the scope

  • How many kinds of page or screen there are.
  • How many systems it has to connect to.
  • Whether people log in, and what each of them may see.
  • Whether it takes payments.
  • How much existing content has to move across.

Hosting and third-party fees are named before you decide.

Questions

When does custom software make sense?

When the way you work is an advantage and no product supports it without workarounds, or when the products that do are priced for a much larger business. If a standard product fits, we will recommend it.

Will the site show up in search and AI answers?

We build for it: fast pages, clear headings, structured data, a sitemap, and a summary file for AI assistants. Ranking is never guaranteed, and it also depends on your content and competition.

Who owns what you build?

You do. The code, the content, the domain, and the data are yours, and you can take them elsewhere.

Can we update it ourselves?

Yes. Content you change often is editable without a developer, and we show your team how.

Do you maintain it after launch?

We can. Monitoring, updates, and backups are agreed before launch, so each has an owner.

Need something built?

Tell us what the site or tool has to do and what you have tried. We will say whether to build it, buy it, or change the process.
